THE COMPANY THEATRE KICKS OFF 5th ANNUAL HOLIDAY TOUR

OF BAH HUMBUG THROUGHOUT LONE STAR STATE

Award-winning actor presents one-man adaptation of the classic A Christmas Carol

(November, 2007) SAN ANTONIO The Company Theatre is gearing up for its fifth annual Christmas tour of BAH HUMBUG throughout the state of Texas. Award-winning actor and company principal, Damian Gillen, presents his unique, one-man adaptation of Dickens classic A Christmas Carol during a 10-city statewide tour, which begins on November 23rd at the Hill Country Christmas Celebration in Boerne, TX and will make a stop at the Gruene Market Days on December 1st at 3pm during a record-breaking “30 shows in 30 days!”

BAH HUMBUG is an imaginative adaptation of Charles Dickens’ tale of hope and compassion, but it has a unique twist. Gillen plays all the roles in this theatrical extravaganza that chronicles the story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, who is challenged to open his heart after being confronted by three spirits during a one-night whirlwind journey of redemption. The play is supported by numerous costume changes and traditional Celtic Christmas tunes.

Gillen, originally from Fort Worth, has been acting professionally for more than 25 years and has served as the managing artistic director for The Company Theatre for the past 14 years. He has given more than 120 performances of BAH HUMBUG since 2002, and last year he completed 28 shows in 30 days, a number he hopes to beat this season. Gillen has performed the production in venues as far ranging as: Church fundraisers, the 1886 Stafford Opera House in Columbus, the Hill Country Christmas Festival in Boerne, Dickens Celebrations in San Antonio, prison ministries, private parties and numerous schools & theaters across Texas!

Because of the initial success of BAH HUMBUG, The Company Theatre expanded its artistic focus and began its Educational Outreach Program, which takes family-friendly productions like BAH HUMBUG to schools, churches and theatres all across Texas. BAH HUMBUG alone has been seen by more than 12,000 people in less than four years.
